As Assessor, it is my goal to create an accurate assessment roll by developing values with fairness and impartiality. While many people believe that the Assessor determines the amount of tax a property owner will pay, this is not the case. The duty of the Assessor is to assess property for tax purposes. The value should reflect the most probable selling price or Market Value. To accomplish this will require a partnership between you, the taxpayer, and the Assessment Department. We will require your help and understanding while we tackle this enormous task, and in return we will assist you in understanding the assessment process and make property valuation information more accessible.
